About
Professionally Accredited Counsellor, Psychotherapist, ADHD Coach & Executive Coach
Hello,
I’m Kaz Hazelwood, a qualified therapist and coach, with a deep belief in the power of insight, metaphor and creativity to support change. Being a therapist is my sole and soul career, and it’s important to me to dedicate time and effort during our sessions, as well as in between for you to get the best out of therapy. Every single one of my clients inspires me, and I make it my mission to build a sound therapeutic relationship with you, to take you to where you need to be in your unique life.
I walk with clients outdoors in and around Tring, Hertfordshire and a large part of my work is done online throughout the UK. I am a parent, music lover, walker, writer and formerly a fitness instructor, nutrition coach, graphic designer and project manager, having worked in a multitude of different areas including HR, Marketing and IT.
I am the creator of Biodynamic Therapy, an integrative, whole-person approach that honours mind, body, emotions and environment. It helps clients uncover patterns, reconnect with their inner resources, and find meaningful ways forward that feel both authentic and sustainable. For coaching sessions, I also use my self-developed PATHS Coaching Model, which weaves together Purpose, Awareness, Transition and Habit, and Self-empowerment to create clarity, confidence and lasting change.
You can know that you are walking your own path here, and that this space is just for you.
I look forward to meeting and working with you.
Warm regards
My mission is to support and encourage you on your path to emotional wellbeing and personal development, no matter where we start.
What informs my practice?
I offer counselling and psychotherapy as the foundation of this work, with the option to bring in coaching where it can help you clarify goals or move forward with practical steps. Together we will explore what you need, so the approach feels supportive, flexible, and tailored to you. I help you explore underlying patterns, whilst developing practical strategies for moving forward. I listen without judgement and allow you to tell me about you and your challenges and situations from a non-bias point of view.
I am predominantly a person-centred integrative therapist, which means the sessions are led by you and I seemlessly incorporate various theories and practical elements into our sessions, including activities and other approaches such as:
Biodynamic Therapy - a nature-inspired approach, that blends body awareness, emotional release and personal ecological wisdom
Internal Family Systems - understanding your internal personality parts
Transactional analysis - looking at relationships
Schemas, Attachment and Psychodynamic theories - exploring childhood and other life stage influences
Gestalt - working with feelings in the here and now
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) - looking at alternative patterns of thinking and behaviour.
Creative Therapy including bespoke visualisations.
Ecotherapy - Counselling and psychotherapy in nature in and around Tring, Hertfordshire
Flow State - Finding a state of being that combines your focus and intrinisc motivation
PATHS Coaching Model - a framework empowering executives to make impactful decisions and lead with confidence
GROW Model - A simple, structured framework for goal-focused coaching conversations
Biodynamic Therapy
I also work within a nature-inspired framework I call Biodynamic Therapy, using a model I’ve developed known as The Ecology of Self, inspired by the work of Norwegian philosopher Arne Næss.
It is an integrative approach, that blends established psychological theory with original tools that I have thoughtfully designed. This can help clients understand themselves more clearly and compassionately, sparking reflection to carry therapeutic insights beyond the session into daily life.
My living systems approach helps us remember, that we’re not machines to be fixed, but living beings with patterns, cycles and needs. It views the self as an internal ecosystem – shaped by relationships, environments, culture and protective adaptations. When parts of that system become overwhelmed or disconnected, we explore it together with care to understand what needs tending, what’s been buried, and what conditions might allow you to grow, heal and reconnect with who you are.
