Coping on the Outside Exhausted Underneath

Therapy and Coaching for Burnout

You’re capable. Intelligent. Responsible.

From the outside, you’re doing well.

Inside, something is fraying.

Your brain is wurring.

Focus has dropped.
Small tasks feel overwhelming.
You’re more irritable than you used to be.
Brain fog is creeping in.
Pushing through no longer works.

Also, if you have ADHD or autistic traits, this may not be a motivation problem.

It may be burnout.

What Burnout Really Is

Burnout is rarely dramatic.

It’s cumulative.

It could be years of masking.
Or maybe years of compensating.
Or perhaps years of running on adrenaline to meet expectations.

Overthinking and hypervigilance can be exhausting.

ADHD in the mix can mean cycles of hyperfocus followed by depletion.
Autistic masking can mean constant social monitoring and sensory suppression.

When chronic stress layers on top, the nervous system eventually says no.

Burnout can look like:

  • Loss of focus and mental clarity

  • Shutdown or withdrawal

  • Emotional reactivity or numbness

  • Loss of confidence

  • Dreading work or other jobs you once managed

  • Feeling “not yourself”

This isn’t weakness. It’s overload.

Who I Work With

I work with men and women across the UK who:

  • Are aware they are running on empty

  • Have ADHD, autistic traits, both or neither

  • Are high functioning but exhausted

  • Feel ashamed that they “can’t cope like they used to”

  • Are successful or seen as successful but privately struggling

  • Want steadiness rather than constant adrenaline

Many of my clients say:

“I used to be sharp.”
“I know what to do. I just can’t start.”
“I’m tired of pushing through.”

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

How I Work

urnout and stress recovery is not about forcing productivity.

It’s about recalibration.

In our work together, we may:

  • Map where overload is happening

  • Reduce cognitive and sensory strain

  • Slow the nervous system

  • Untangle shame from identity

  • Build sustainable rhythms and routines

  • Strengthen boundaries without harshness

I bring an integrative, relational approach that includes somatic awareness, systems thinking and practical structure.

This isn’t about becoming someone different.

It’s about becoming steadier.

Why This Matters

Many people have spent years adapting to environments not designed for their nervous system.

They have succeeded by overriding internal signals.

Burnout is often the body finally insisting on change.

You do not have to collapse to justify support.
