Session Information

Find a quiet space for you to connect.

Online counselling offers the same support and confidentiality as in-person sessions, but with the flexibility to meet from wherever you feel most comfortable. Instead of travelling to an appointment (reducing our carbon footprint), we connect via Zoom, making therapy more accessible and convenient. You just need to find a quiet, private space with a good connection, where you feel comfortable and won’t be disturbed. This helps create a sense of security, allowing you to focus fully on your session. If you don’t have a laptop, you can use your phone (see below).

Online sessions tend to be more flexible, for example, if you have to change location for any reason, you'll still be able to continue with your sessions, as long as you have access to your device.

When you book your session, you will automatically receive a Zoom link. Just click that link at the time of the meeting to join the session. You are able to cancel and re-book another session within 13 hours of your session start time. If you book a walking session and decide to change to an on-line session, you can cancel the walking appointment and book a Zoom session instead.

Online instructions & advice

Step out onto a unique path we can walk together.

Ecotherapy is simply taking counselling outdoors. Walking side by side in nature can make it easier to talk, giving you space to think and process things at your own pace. Sometimes, being outside helps ease anxious thoughts, reduce stress and bring a sense of clarity when life feels overwhelming.

The gentle rhythm of walking can make conversations feel more natural, and a change of surroundings can shift perspectives in a way that sitting in a room sometimes can’t. The spaces I use are chosen with care; peaceful, accessible, and private enough, so you can feel comfortable opening up whilst we walk.

Weather

Occasionally the weather can interrupt the session.  Suitable clothing may be needed to protect ourselves from the elements, as part of the experiential nature of the work is to be immersed in the landscape.  Please be aware that we will generally walk in all weather conditions (unless there is heavy rain or thunder and lightning). However, you do have the choice of swapping any ecotherapy session for an on-line session if it suits you better.

Confidentiality

I understand that this can be a concern, so it’s worth considering how you might deal with bumping into someone you know and we can discuss this at the start of our sessions together.

Dogs

In order for us to focus on you, we’re unable to walk dogs during our sessions. Even the best behaved dogs need attention and furry friends are allowed to have their down time, so we can focus on you, to get the best out of the session.
