What I Help With
People come to therapy for many different reasons, but often there is a sense of feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure why things feel the way they do.
You might have tried to think your way through things already. You might understand parts of it, but something still does not quite shift.
Therapy offers a space to slow this down, make sense of what is happening, and begin to understand the patterns underneath.
Feeling overwhelmed or burnt out
You may feel constantly under pressure, mentally busy, or unable to switch off.
Sometimes this shows up as overthinking, difficulty resting, or feeling like you are always “on”.
Often, this is connected to deeper patterns around responsibility, self-expectation, or ways you have learned to cope over time.
Emotional shutdown or numbness
You might find it hard to access your feelings, or notice that you disconnect when things become too much.
This can feel frustrating or confusing, especially if you want to feel more present or connected.
Rather than something being wrong, this is often a protective response. Therapy can help you gently understand this and reconnect at a pace that feels safe.
Confusion around feelings
You may struggle to name what you are feeling, or feel unsure about your reactions.
At times, emotions can feel mixed, unclear, or difficult to trust.
We work together to build clarity and a stronger internal sense of what is going on for you.
Repeating patterns in relationships
You might notice similar dynamics showing up in relationships, whether personal or professional.
This could include difficulty setting boundaries, pulling away, people-pleasing, or feeling misunderstood.
These patterns often have roots in earlier experiences, and understanding them can open up new ways of relating.
The impact of past experiences
Past experiences, including difficult relationships or trauma, can continue to shape how you think, feel, and respond.
Even when you are aware of this, it can still feel hard to change.
Therapy offers a way to process and understand these experiences, so they no longer hold the same weight.
Neurodivergence and self-understanding
Many of the people I work with are neurodivergent, including ADHD.
This can bring strengths such as creativity and insight, alongside challenges like overwhelm, sensitivity or high self-expectation.
Our work focuses on understanding how your mind works and finding ways of relating to yourself that feel more supportive and sustainable.
A different way of looking at it
The difficulties you are experiencing often make sense in the context of your life.
They are not random, and they are not signs that something is wrong with you.
They are patterns that developed for a reason.
Understanding them is the first step towards change.
If you are unsure whether your situation fits into any of the above, you are still very welcome to get in touch.
You do not need to have it all figured out before starting.
